Women fans of Internet porn

A new American study indicates that the image of the porn-obsessed male using the Internet to find satisfaction may need revision. A Nielsen NetRatings survey found that one of three visitors to a pornographic web site monitored for a month were women, erotic magazine Cupido reports.

In another study, cited at newspaper Bergens Tidende's web site, Norwegians were found to be in the absolute world top in terms of Internet porn consumption, using four times as much money per capita on net porn than neighboring Sweden.

Cupido cited psychologists who believe that the interactivity of the Internet makes it attractive to women, but that accurate measurement of surfing habits was difficult to achieve.

One woman surveyed felt that Internet porn was a positive feature.

"It is healthy. You can get both education and inspiration, besides getting horny. Porn on the 'net is a fine addition to my usual sex life," said Julie Neff.

Norway tops in deodorant use

Deodorant producers are enjoying the sweet smell of success in Norway. Once again, the country leads the world in consumption, especially of the deodorant stick variety.

"I think I can say that Norwegians hold the world record in consumption of deodorant sticks," says Anne Britt Carr, head of Christian Dior in Norway.

Carr, who's compiling her company's sales statistics for last year, says spray deodorants are most popular in most other countries.

"We have, though, a completely special tradition involving deodorant sticks with luxurious scents," Carr said. "It seems to be one of the few luxury articles that the masses allow themselves here."

The Dior boss stressed that perfume and cologne best-sellers in other lands are gaining market share in Norway. But deodorant remains on top.

"My colleagues in France ask me, what do Norwegians do with all those deodorant sticks," she laughed. "Eat them?"

She added that some of the deodorant sticks are produced almost exclusively for the Norwegian market.

Well, too much of some things may be bad, but I don't see that this is an issue with deodorant. The more, the better. I've got 3 sticks myself, and since I buy hubby's by the fricken truckload, chances are great he has 6 or so in his drawer. Running.out.is.not.an.option.
