Is it possible to compete with nose clip on?

I like to swim and enjoy doing it. However, I don’t like water going up my nose. My husband suggested that I should get a nose clip on. I got one and didn’t regret it. It has helped me a lot. I can dive, swim, and do whatever I want without being afraid of having a glass of water up in my nose. Is it possible to compete with nose clip on?

You did the right thing if you can’t stand the water in your nose. Competing with nose clip on? Well, it depends on how efficient your breathing is. I would have serious doubts on efficiency of my breathing with the nose clip on. You have to have all possible air passages free to supply your lungs with oxygen. Breathing is critical component of swimmers’ efficiency and speed so I would be cautious in trying to do something like that. The best way is to check your time with nose clip on and compare it with the one without it. If there is no difference (which I doubt) then you can wear it during the competition.
