I like to swim and am regular at the pools. I know that the water in the pool is chlorinated. I heard some bad things about chlorine. I wonder if they are true. Is chlorine harmful to the skin? I have experienced no problems whatsoever up to now. However I would like to be sure.

Many people who swim in chlorinated water for an extended period of time know the damaging effects of chlorine on skin and hair. It leaves skin feeling itchy and dry. It also leaves hair brittle, dry, and prone to dandruff. Furthermore it can cause or aggravate rashes and other skin irritations. You may also end up with sore and itchy eyes. Fortunately not all the people feel these problems. You are among them. Lucky you. Still it would be wise to wash it off immediately after getting out of the pool.
