well......not his goal time, but he seemed in good spirits after this one. He had a tough last half marathon.
I personally didn't think conditions were as bad as previous years, but I think the nice 10-20 winds that made the 80s weather bearable for spectators, just made it more difficult for the athletes.
I would estimate that 70-80% of the people that crossed the line today ended in the medical tent. Many carried. Rumor had it that there were 100 people taken by ambulance off the bike course.
Glad to see Sheldon finish. I don't think it was physical fitness that carried him to the line today. This was 110% mental.
The cruel truth is that in a few days, like always, it won't reach 70F. The temp at 5:00 am was 71F. In two weeks, I'll be wearing gloves.
