Posted: 02/05/03 - 20:24 Post subject: Interview Today
Went really well. Looking at a 50% pay increase and a title if I get the job. I interviewed with the controller, cfo and coo (who happens to be my wifes uncle )
The CFO loved the fact I was a wrestler, and I think we really clicked. After he explained all that the job would entail, I really became interested, a challenge! I told him that I am the guy for the job. He told me I was at the top of his list. Prohemp, the whole transferable skills thing really worked well, and I owe you a dinner if I get the job.
The controller loves my wife, and I think he is a real good guy. He didn't interview per se, we just kind of chatted. He is really down to earth, and of course I had to sing the praises of how talented my wife is at what she does. He is, by the way, her direct boss.
The COO, is my wife's uncle. His main concern was that the position was a real hot topic right now, the ceo is paying it a lot of attention. He warned me that it would be very political and very closely watched. I told him that if he was trying to scare me away, he was doing the exact opposite, I love a challenge! (Besides, the last two directors of the department were real f*-ups, and I would look like the second coming compared to them.)
Got my fingers crossed, this job would help to get me the HELL out of the Bronx and into a house!

That's great, Monk! It must have been very nice to be able to walk out and feel so confident.
I'll cross my fingers for you too.

I guess that means you should be opening the Riff Raff bar early real soon and start buying for everyone!
Good Luck and I hope it is everything you expected.
