Joisey had cable, we did dial-up (ugh) here until we got DSL.
Compared to dial-up, DSL is amazing. Cable was unbelievable.
We could only get dial up or DSL here. So, DSL it is.

You know, we have time warner, and our cable/internet bill is $148/month. I think we're paying about $80 for the cable (have 7 hbo and 5 max, 3 disney, a couple history channels, and a lot of others) and then our internet is like $50 and the rest is fees and tax. Part of our hbo cost is the $6/month for their On Demand. But then we are huge tv fans, we love our movies. I probably do most of my watching between 8p and 3-4 in the morning, since I suffer from insomnia a fair amount.
Heck though, I'd pay $80/month for just pbs and nickelodeon.  All the other stuff is the gravy.

since aldis lamp was not an option - I have DSL and have had no problems - I have two computers hooked up here at home via a router and no problems

We have cable and don't know what I would do if I had to switch back. I don't miss dialing up at all.

Cable's great. We went from dialup to cable and didnt have the chance to try DSL.
