What should my son be getting as far as protein everyday?
He's very active, 95 pounds 5'--all muscle. I don't like meat often, so I could easily go vegetarian, but that's not necessarily healthy for a boy.
I served Chicken boca burgers last night and he loved them. He gets eggs and peanut butter. And we do rice and beans quite often.
What amount should he get? Do I need to take him out to get a big steak every now and again?
Should I just be cooking meat just for him and eat my veggies?

That's an excellent article--he eats whatever is put in front of him so we are lucky there.
I don't want him to be a vegetarian--I've just never liked a whole lot of meat.
Every once in awhile I will crave a steak or a burger and I'll eat one, but I'm just not a big meat-lover.

I think the general guidleline is 1g of protein for every lb of body weight, but it would be higher if he's growing. If you're including soy protein and eating some dairy, I would think he's getting enough.
