Who's all coming now, so far I know for sure it's me, you and Shelly.
Who else?? Tentatives by my count are: rob, brie, achey, the retrievers and Kimba....any other takers?? |
What about convincing Bonobo to come? Bdpou? Can we get a few more of the Mafia people to come down with Shelly?

Sorry, Koby, I'm in IN now too, but maybe my remarkable persuasion skills can coax mafia members down...it's a bit of a trip for just the weekend though.
I'm going to try to break my 5K PR an Indy, so I'm looking forward to the race.

I hesitated to post this open invite a couple weeks ago because my brother is currently living with me, but I just found out the other day that he should be moved out of my house by the time of the race. If he is, I will have a spare bed, couch, futon, and floor space for people if they prefer to not get a hotel. And with it being October, the lack of A/C in my house shouldn't bother anybody. Just PM me if interested.
Oh, and I'm still thinking of some place to go after the race. What types of places are of interest to the group?

Oh, sweet....maybe I'll have company! I doubt I am going to be able to get it together to train for the half, I despair at getting the time for long distances til I'm done school when I'm 60....

Hoosier runner here. Live in Anderson, just a 20min trip north on I-69. Ive only been running for 3 weeks, but would possibly consider the 5k, this as the first. Looking at the results from last year I could, as of right now, probably finish in the top 100 (31min).
Almost 3 full months from now before that 5k, I think I could definitely get in good running shape for it. Good shape as in say 25min??

^^ check that, prob 27-28min. I think 25min may be a bit much for me to maintain over 3miles (8min pace).
Anyway, as I said, Im brand new to running and my main goal as of now is shedding a few pounds, not running 5ks. But at some point Id like to try.

Well, I'm definitely out for this one, I have to go out of town that week and honestly, my training has been for poo anyway. I was hoping to run this one with Jackedup but apparently she's got other plans that weekend as well. Hopefully I'll catch up with y'all next time.....and I'm still, so far, planning to be in Chicago and I know a lot of you were going there the week before so no harm done.....

IDK yet. Seems I may have developed a stress fracture in my left lower leg. Some ppl have said they think its a shin splint, but I cant possibly see how since Ive had no problems for the first 6 weeks Ive been running.
I just started to feel this dull ache in my lower leg that progressively got worse. I even took a full 8 days off, came back and tried a walk/run routine to ease back into it, and woke up the next day and could barely get out of bed.
So now Im relegated to using an elliptical at the gym. Im gonna give it 2-3-4 weeks off and then try again and see how it feels. There is still a good 7-8 weeks until the race so if the pain goes away then Id still be up for it.
