Hi everybody....
How do I increase the speed in my 2 mile runs? I am concentrating on running long distances, but, I'd like to incorporate 1 day of speed work. I need something simple, so that I can understand (lol).
thanks,
Kell
PS I just bough some Asic Cumulus running shoes they rock!

trying not to sound like a smart alec...but...

run faster.

It really depends on your weekly mileage. I am of the opinion that most people rush into speed work too fast. Work on building your base and building some mileage and when your aroebic capacity increases you will get faster.

easy workout would be to do 400 meters.

4 or 5 of them...set a goal pace as faster than you want to run the two mile.

Walk a 200 meters between them.
