OK, so I realize this isn't a huge tragedy in the large scheme of things but it was NOT a good way to start my morning.....burning mad

I'm looking out my bedroom window to see if more of my summer lilies are blooming yet, and it "appears" that the petals have fallen off the ones that were blooming yesterday. However, they don't appear to be anywhere on the ground under the tree. Odd, I think, those usually last a couple weeks, so I go down to investigate. Well, here the stupid f-ing gardeners were there yesterday trimming the shrubs and lopped off all but two of the tops of my lilies!!! Now, I realize they're from some foreign country and not a damn one of them speaks a word of English, but come ON....do three foot frigging lily plants with BUDS AND FLOWERS on them LOOK like they need to be trimmed?????? Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Those of you who know me well know that my gardening borders on an obsession, but the main reason that is...which I know probably sounds really stupid, is that I inherited my love of flowers from my grandmother, who passed away a few years ago, and this has been my way of sorta keeping connected to her since I was closer to her than anyone else in my family and I really miss her. Sad Lilies were her favorite also and when I saw them this morning I just flipped out. Needless to say, the guy from our management company probably still can't hear out of his right ear after the a**-reaming he got. This is NOT the first time those incompetent f**kwads have screwed up my flower beds.

Thanks for letting me vent. Sad

's cool, Genie. We have the exact same thing happen with us.

Last year, in order to get at the skunks under our front step, they had to tear out part of our pine shruberry (which is in front of our picture window). Management (and landscapers) still haven't gotten around to replacing it yet.

And they do the occasional number on our flowers too. Sad

I'm willing to bet theses guys are related to the Stairmaster tech who came out and dismantled my eliptical, put it back together, still had parts laying on the floor and tries to convince me this is OK?? He says "Huh, there are parts left but it seems to be working OK, I wonder where they go." I said "Bend over I'll show ya where they go." burning mad I'll prolly go to hell for that but he's been out here to fix it 5 times since I bought it the end of January. He don't know d*ck obviously.

Genie,

I had the same thing happen to ONE FREAKIN' LITTLE LILLLY that someone (I think my landlord) planted before we moved in. Well, this year the "one little lilly" turned into a huge batch of lillies. I don't understand it but they look really beautiful right now. Hmm...I'm gonna have to take a picture for you guys. Smile

Most perennial bulbs (lily, tulip, iris, crocus) multiply yearly, which is nice if you have the room for them to spread out. Mine doubled from what I planted last year and WOULD HAVE looked really nice this year.....burning mad

Please do post so I can live vicariously through your beauties.....

My rental company just cut down three trees around my complex to add additional parking and a 1/2 circle driveway.

The trees were on the east side of the building and offer some shade from the sun on that side, now I get mister sun in my face.

Also tearing down good sapplings for the sake of a parking lot is a bit much.

Offering my take on nature.

LOL I'm waiting for that next Wink

Yes, Dives, those are lilies. Looks like some form of oriental lily or the Madonna lilies that come out at Easter. VERY pretty.... My orange ones look just like that. Fortunately they are in a different bed.
