I was chatting with a former co-worker from Atlanta yesterday who was laid off about a year and a half ago. I knew she had been out of work for a long time and taking some classes to become PMP certified. Suddenly she makes the comment that she was pretty much forced to take off a year without looking for work or taking classes or anything because of a family situation.
Well, I dug a little deeper and it turns out that her brother was charged and convicted of 1st degree murder for killing his wife's ex-hubby! And I have to add that this took place in the great state of: Wisconsin....(Mafia)?
(I'm currently checking the backgrounds of all of my and CB's siblings....because there is no way in hell that I want to be off work for a whole year!)

I don't mean to pry but was she his lawyer? If my sister was charged/convicted of murder I don't think I'd leave my job for a year. Not sure what purpose it would serve. Did she explain what she did?
Also, does he get conjugal visits with his wife that caused all the broohaahaa?
