My evening was shocking to say the least Wink

So this evening I was driving home from Richmond in a thunderstorm. The lightning was the worst I've seen in a long time. My fiance was in the truck ahead of me and we were talking on the CB. I set the mic down on the passenger seat and shortly after I heard a crack, a flash of light, and felt the truck get squishy. I looked in my mirror and saw what remained of my CB antenna bouncing on the highway while on fire! I managed to pull the truck over and call my fiance. After the rain stopped I got out and assessed the damage. I have no antenna anymore, a big dent on the roof, paint missing, and two flat tires on the back end of my truck. My dome lights are stuck on as is my seatbelt light. My truck turns over, but doesn't fire.

The truck is currently sitting at my fiance's parent's driveway on their trailer. I'm going out tomorrow to see if I can salvage the computer module and get it to start. Sad Maybe insurance will cover it?

Personally, I'm fine. The crack wasn't very loud and the light wasn't very bright. The only clues I had that I was hit was the damage I had on my truck. I'm betting that the truckers next to me had to change their underwear at the next truck stop. Smile I bet it was a good show for the cars down the road. Smile

Your insurance should cover it under a comprehensive claim.

Glad you weren't hurt.

Probably a good thing you weren't holding the mic in your hand at the time.

You don't think they'll try the "act of God" clause to get out of it? I'm hoping not, but I think they did that when my ex-BIL had a car incident with some hungry monkeys (a true story).

It was safe. He's more alive than he would have been if it had hit him instead.
