It's been my experience, and perhaps the Ranger will change all that, but even when I DID tell my previous partners what I wanted I usually ended up with slippers or chocolate or something... 
If I got anything that is. My son's father was all "I didn't have time" as a rule. Oh, eXCUUUUUSE me! I seem to find time to wash your stinky underwear and take care of your child and I get you stuff on YOUR birthday. But...I'm not bitter.
