Posted: 05/18/05 - 18:11 Post subject: I think my co-worker is going nuts
Technically, she is my employee but doesn't seem to accept that, even though my boss announced it . Maybe that is part of the problem.
Today she accused me of flirting with her husband. He came into the office when she was in the reception office to ask where she was.
Her: "Why are you talking to J so much?"
Me : "Um..What?"
Her: "I saw you talking to him for a while."
ME: "What?"
Her: " I'm not stupid. I'm keeping an eye on you. Just because your husband is out of town doesn't mean you can flirt with mine"
Me:
WTF?
Now what do I do? I am NOT flirting with the guy, I don't know what her problem is, other than that she thinks she should have my job, and has started to behave, for some reason, really oddly (read snappy) the last few weeks.
WTF???

I know Crazy Cat Lady is.
She asked me to fax something over to her doctor today and under the sheet she wanted me to fax were her brain scan results. Yes, I know it was wrong of me to scan it, but I really didn't mean to. It was just there.
Dude, parts of her brain are atrophied.
As in...deteriorating due to lack of use.
While I have had my suspicions, it was good to get some affirmation.

Once when I was a manager at Burger King, some other gal was under the impression that she should have the job instead of me. She didn't like taking orders from me, so she made up an imaginary friend and would actually talk to her imaginary friend about me, while I was standing right there listening to her.

Sounds like a really fun person to be working with. Next time hubby comes over, just point him to the wife and not say a word.
Personally, I would have told her EXACTLY what had been said. If she still considers that to be "flirting" then she has other problems in her marriage.
