Friday: Leave home at 1215 go about 5 miles, realize I left the helmet in the house, return and re start trip at 1240.
Lots of rain. VERY heavy traffic all over the place. Made it to the registration with about half hour to spare.
Saturday:
First off there was *%%%!#^^ rain, then more &^%^^#& rain and then there was some ^^%$#$^^ ice mixed in with more *(**&%^^8 rain.
Despite all that I did finish and was not last. (Came VERY close)
I'll give a full report of this later, on just wanted to let you in on the action.
The 5K Race started at about 60 degrees with light sprinkles.
The first half of the bike leg was in little bit heavier rain.
The second half of the bike leg was in high winds and driving rain. Let me tell you, the top of that freaking big bridge was VERY windy. So windy that I had to actually pedal downhill to go a bit faster.
The last 5K was in rain and driving wind, temps were now in the 40s.
The awards ceremony was cancelled because of the inclement weather.
When I registered close to the end of the early registry period, the guy said there were only two people in my category - Clydesdale over 50. According to the list I was last in the Clydesdales overall.

Congrats for at the very least not bagging it. Showing up for that in that weather put you ahead of a lot of others. And finishing that race out you ahead of even more.
