I look down from my work chair and see a scorpion on the damn floor. This is the third time it's happened in this stupid office. I've started putting my bag up on my desk so one doesn't crawl into the thing accidentally.
Really. This is getting ridiculous.

Well, one day the one on the floor was crawling right past my foot. How's that?
(And people wonder why I sit all cross legged in an office chair. Although it's not very ladylike in a skirt.)

But a scorpion isn't as noticeable as Klaus Meine or a gila monster. Now those I could see before they were right up under my chair.
Also, the scorpions are probably quicker. I'm just sayin. And I am not the planet's quickest individual currently.

I work in a resort in the FLorida Keys.
You CAN die, depending on the type or number of bites. You should save them once you are bitten and get to the ER right away. It's more of a concern for me because as I am allergic to bee stings/wasps, I am probably allergic to them too. So I carry two epi-pens with me all of the time.
However, like I said, the severity of the reaction depends greatly on the type of scorpion. From what I hear, the bites are all very painfull, at minimum.
