With Sora STI levers, your brake arm is also the shifter lever to move into high gears. To move to a lower gear, there's a little thumb switch on the side of the lever, kinda like were the rubber bumps are for Flightdeck controls.

Glad PH answered that I have no idea. It's my first road bike. I have not ridden it cuz they didn't have my size and had to order it. The bike shop owner said if it didn't fit or I didn't like it he wouldn't let me leave with it.
