I've done something similar twice now, and my wife and mother-in-law won't let me live it down.

Case 1: Buy new pair of Pearl Izumi bike shorts. Wonder why there's no room the "the boys", and why the legs seem shorter than usual. Hmph - must be a new style. Nope -- they're womens.

Case 2: Biking to work one cold fall day. Need long running pant over chamois. Hmph - must have shrunk pant in laundry 'cause they feel more snug than usual. Nope -- they're my wife's.
