My first 5K ever was last year. It was the "Dump your Plump" 5K put on by the Sugarloaf Community Church.

I didn't race it this year, partly because I didn't feel that I'd be fast enough and partly because the wife wouldn't do the necessary Saturday morning taxi service that I usually do so that I could race.

Anyway, I just check out the official results for the race :: http://www.sugarloafcc.org/events/5k/ Not only could I have placed, I had a pretty good chance of WINNING! No one even broke sub 20:00!

I'm not sure where last year's competitors were because the guy that won last year was 16:something and I have no chance in heck of catching him any time soon.
