Gogirl,
I have attended numerous concerts over the years at the Pavillion and to my knowledge the hill has always been grass. Have you had a different experience?

I apologize if I came across a bit too venomous. But I take you posting disgusting and vile photographs as an obvious attempt to compare a non-vegan lifestyle to being fat, lazy and diseased. I mean, that was your point...correct? Why else would you take what was innocent banter and inject such repulsive imagery. It's something I have seen all too often with the freaks over at PeTA and ALF. And I have no patience for it.
But again, I apologize for even allowing this to go on as long as it has. I'm bowing out of the topic all together.
After all, this is a running forum, not a group discussion on ethical and moral nutrient consumption. |
Um, NO, you are 100% incorrect. You're new here, and I let your original dig slide. I also realize you don't know why the pictures are up there nor their history, so I'll cut you some slack. In short, they come from many threads ago and it's become a longrunning joke here.
But your assumptions about what I said or intended are way off base, and quite frankly, completely illogical. You are the only one hellbent on making this a political discussion through "innocent banter" that has nothing to do with the original topic, or anything contained within here. I was just bewildered because you took my words out of context to prove or disprove whatever argument you're trying to start here, and still can't follow the reasoning why. Don't blast me for things I'm not saying, was all I said.
If you are angered the "topic" went on so long, then quit perpetuating it. You're the only one talking about this. I just reread this thread again, and still have no idea how you got from point A to T without the steps in between. I mean, you translate headcheese and Fight Club photos to me hating fat people? Give me a break, dude.

Yes, I am new here. Big deal....it's the internet. I didn't know I had to be accepted by everyone to have a percieved opinion. It's possible there was another meaning to those vile pics....I can't seem to find the redeaming value in them. But if you say so. Fine. Again my apologies.
And again, I apologize if I was too direct or rude. Anytime I see the word vegan I automatically "put up my dukes". I find a large majority of them to be against the very culture I strive to preserve for my child. I know that sounds alittle "over the top". But I have had enough dealings with them as an avid hunter to warrant caution.
So for (I think) the 5th time, I apologize if I misread the situation. As you will admit the written word is void of inflection, hand gesture and facial expression. It's really not the easiest medium of interaction.
So truce?

Yes, please call a truce already, RT. For the most part, we all get along here, and if anyone wants to argue, the Clubhouse at CR is always open. I don't know if you came from "over there" or not, but the mindset is totally different here. We don't attack people for no reason and we have this really coolio PM feature that you can chat in private on if you ever have something you need to say to someone that's directed only at them. It's kinda like "meet me at the bike racks at 3:00"
Now.....is the bar open yet and where the H is my

I once dated a vegan once and it was no fun. We'd go out to dinner and she'd drink water
I mean, how can you have a food fight when the other person isn't even eating?

Truce over what? I wasn't arguing with you, just trying to keep myself out of the argument you're having with yourself. Please, please, please, I'm at my wits end: I AM NOT VEGAN NOR DO I CARE WHO IS OR WHY. NOT ONCE IN THIS ENTIRE THREAD DID I MENTION THE WORD VEGAN EXCEPT FOR JUST NOW. NOT ONCE. NOT EVAH. NOT EVEN A LITTLE. DIDN'T EVEN THINK IT. THAT WAS KELTIC. DO NOT CONFUSE ME WITH HIM - I am much cuter though he probably looks better in a kilt than me.
I can't possibly be any clearer.

genie,
I'm north of Houston. But I spend 2-3 days a week all year long on the bay or in the salt marshes. It is a beautiful place.

wow
I start a nonsense thread and it looks like a good candidate for a lock......
perhaps I should make some kind of extreme political statement in my next thread. Maybe the Great Race can be remembered as the Great Riot!

Well, well, well...the senior Texan around here goes out of town for a few days and look what happens.
RunTexas, after you have been around here for awhile, you will realize we have some inside jokes. Like the headcheese pic. It is a joke and had nothing at all to do with diet, morality. your choices or anything else. Hang around a bit and you will pick on some other inside jokes.

So, Alan, does this mean we can blame this on you?
Where have you been by the way?
