Being a self taught seamstress I don't always do things 'by the book'. Like for instance I don't wash the fabric before I construct things out of it. So I make myself a pair of kickin' spring capris and throw them in the wash with the intentions of wearing them today. Well, when they came out they were small enough to fit one of the eight year olds I babysit. Apparently it was 100% cotton and not very good quality at that. I threw them in the dress up clothes box (one week's sewing down the drain)
I knew there was a reason why I loved polyester so......

Phew !! For a second there I thought you weren't wearing ANY pants today...
BTW For someone who's sewing experience is limited to darning and other minimal machine usage, I admire your abilities to make actual clothing.

I made one long-sleeve t-shirt in Home Ec. in HS. I admire that you can really sew!
