My Half Marathon next weekend
My ankle is quite messed up. It hurts to even run 1 km. So i have changed my registration to the 5 mile race. I may end up walking it with a friend but will try to run some of it.
I will continue to train and run a half in the Spring - Either Ottawa or Halifax.
*sigh*

I know that's tough, but you are doing the right thing in the big picture ("in the long run" would have been a bit ironic).
Your ankle will tell you what to do in the 5 miler.
Sorry.

You all have legitimate reasons to not run (injuries are never excuses unless you're BS-ing someone). I need to get a race in for the sake of getting one in for my training for Toronto. There's plenty, but they're all 5Ks! I need a longer race. And, no, the Chicago Classic Half is not an option - I'm supposed to run twenty that day.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that. Definitely stay off it as much as you can - ligaments take a long time to get fixed up right, and if you keep aggravating them, they'll just bug you every day for the rest of your life.
Let me know if you're doing Ottawa next year -- I've got it in the plans too.
