Posted: 06/15/06 - 06:38 Post subject: I'm nervous (prayers please) - UPDATED
My DH has a long history of accurate diagnosis prior to going to the doctor. He worked in the lab of a hospital for most of his 20 years in the military and has seen it all. He is now claiming to have an issue with his prostate and was in tears last night and talking about his death.
I forced him (literally) to go to the doctor today.
I'm scared.

Unless his physical had signs of increased PSA's, I would not really worry. Let all the tests come in before you start. As former military he should know to get all the data in before making the decision.
Normal stuff happens to men as they get older. I'm permanently taking a drug called "Flowmax". First time in my life I have had to take a drug permanently. Its helped a lot.

sounds like he knows enough to be "dangerous". he might be panicked without valid reason-- hey, it could happen!!!
glad he's seeing a doctor today and i really hope they give him the testing he needs to answer his concerns.

Lots of tried and true treatments out there if he does have a prob. Glad to read he's going in. Us guys can get stubborn that way and it just makes it worse.

I'm glad he's going in. As Jrjo says, there are lots of treatments of all kinds for all the sensitive issues pertaining to the prostate.
My uncle had prostate cancer and he is 100% today.

Amazing how many bad things have a way of not developing. Ok, so now he needs some meds to calm it down. Plenty of good meds out there.
Just out of curiosity, has he been riding a bike lately ?
