And it's not even a black one!! It's all loose, just hanging on at the root...gah it's like a really loose tooth, just wiggling there, waiting for that tug!!
So do I:
Wait for it to go peacefully
Get my husband to pull it off my toe
I can't do it myself yuck...
If I put this under my pillow, will the marathon fairy leave me a new Garmin?

Oh! You are more woman than me! I can't bear the voluntary removal of a loose toenail! I also can't bear the snaggy feeling of putting a sock on over a really loose dangly one. So I in the past I've been known to first aid tape the remainder on to my toe until Nature decides its time. /heebie geebies

Welcome to adulthood, Grasshopper.
Treat it like a tooth - piece of string around it, the other end around a doorknob. Slam the door, voila!

In my experience, guaze, Neosporin and tape it until it's ready to come off by itself. You risk for inflammation and infection by yanking it before it's ready to come off and possibly causing an open area in the nail bed. If it goes black /blood blister-ish under the nail bed, then cauterize a needle and pop the blister to relieve the pressure, then repeat the taping. It will come off, and grow back.
I am the foot problem queen. Trust me.

I lose at least one a month. Just rip the stupid thing off, there's a new one under it. It doesn't hurt. Much.
