i wonder how many jobs i'd have to get to be able to pay for it...
$170,000... even at 25k a year... that's like... 9 years salary.

yeah... i don't want an aparment though. i don't want my money going out the window.
even then, town houses/condo's are like 100,000... that's steep.

If you're handy but a home that needs a little fixin' up or just a good redecorating then turn around and sell it. That's what I did on my first home and I made a nice little profit doing this.

townhouses are not all 'apartments' around here you can find one for $70,000 - 80,000

i'm not entirely handy, but i hear that's a good way to learn. it was also suggested that i rent the house out cheap to some (tame) friends while doing the renos to help balance the payments....

that could work, but you may run into trouble with people living around you while trying to do work at the same time...
