India claims that grown-ups are so crabby because when you're big you can't really ever get enough covers on cold days.

I think grown ups are crabby because they have to share the covers....

this grown-up gets crabby because the frickin' blanket always ends up on the floor or wrapped around my legs like a damn tourniquet....

See, she may be right... if you have to share, and if it's getting tangled a lot, there just isn't enough of it.
Imagine a king-sized blanket to a kid... then proportionately enlarge that king-sized blanket to fit a grown-up. You'd be swimming in blanket!

When I worked with Autistic children, they wore lightly weighted vests as a calming measure--they likened it to wearing a cozy quilt or blanket. So, her theory is possibly correct!
Nothing like a good blanket on a chilly day to feel secure!

Uhhh, I think Bam was joking --I don't use a vest evah! Most agencies(at least most around here) feel therapy is a better way to teach a child with autism to calm themselves, rather than a vest which is only a temporary solution to the problem.

The vests were in addition to therapy at our school. They worked for some kids, and for others, it didn't work at all.
