No kidding, true story.
In one my past offices, we were having a rash of practical (and not so practical) jokes and retaliation.
(j1miller: you know who I'm talking about:)
One of the guys Iworked with had this AWFUL smell in his office. He thought it might be his garbage can ("dust bin" for your Canadians and English..) so he cleaned it...
Nope....
His mini-fridge...Nope...Gym Bag...Nope
He has folks that work directly for him come and help scrub his entire office...
Well, in the end, someone (not me, mind you) who had left the unit (military assignment) put an open can of sardines on top of his computer, which was safety tucked away in the under-desk computer cabinet... well, over time, the heat from computer evaporated all the juices away from the can, leaving only smelly, dried fish (sardine jerky!!!)
He thought is was me, in retaliation for filling my briefcase, stuffed full, of pop-corn...
The culprit called sometime later and said he heard there was something "wrong" with the office, like a smell or something. Then he fessed up (letting me off the hook)
