I know, it's months and months away...
But every time I open a closet in the house...I think, I'm gonna have to empty this thing out in a few months.
Anyone want to volunteer to just give up their job for a week, and come help me pack up and move? (late may or June)

Perfect opportunity to really clean house. The more you sell/donate/toss, the less you have to move. Plus I bet you can get a pretty sizable tax writeoff for next year if you donate a lot.
But hell no, I'm not volunteering to help.

I've moved 11 times since 1988. I bet Aire could give you some tips, too. Some of the things I've learned are to pick up boxes here and there--the beer store, the office. When you're done with something, pack it. Like suppose you're hosting an Easter dinner and using the good china. The minute Easter is done, pack it. That way, when it comes down to crunchtime, there isn't so much left to do. And always remember, the stereo is the last thing to go down and the first thing to go up. Good luck.

Moving is not fun! I can relate!
Try to imagine what it was like for me to move from a house with a full basement in Ohio...to a house without one in South Carolina. You learn quickly how to eliminate unwanted items and declutter.
It's a pain.
I feel your frustrations.
I really do.

Excellent suggestions! I would recommend hitting up the local bookstores for boxes. My last move I got tons from B&N and they were the perfect size and super strong. Pick a room downstairs, as close to the front door as possible, to start stacking it all up. It will be so much less overwhelming if you do it in small steps.

I'm not. I can't wait. But I'm making myself get through tax season before I start the heaving and hauling process.
I'm looking to take VERY LITTLE with me. Most of it is gonna be Ian's stuff. I'm using this as a BIG purge time.

Grocery stores are great for boxes. Look for ones that held cans or glass...
Oh, and I'll second GGG's stereo and also add TOILET PAPER to that list....
