I thought maybe you didn't want to get out of your chair today.

get rid of it now. i guess it's really hard for you though cuz all your "stuff" is kid-related and hasn't even been used up yet....

i've unpacked two major moves and can only say that it's so much easier to unpack when the stuff has been kinda sorta organized and thinned out than when it has just been shoved into cartons for the sake of shoving...

moving is icky. but CHANGE IS GOOD. Mr. Green

I can't wait to move. I live in a really small place now and alot of our stuff is in the attic. I can't wait to see whats up there.

I know your anxiety coach! I feel the same way. Lucky for me half of the stuff in the house is already gone, including the real heavy stuff. Mr. Green I have 4 weeks before I close on the new place and really haven't started to pack at all. The sad part is I could pack 90% of the house now and not worry about needing anything. But no, I sit and procrastinate. I am enjoying reading my book though.

This is absolutely the BEST advice. Start now. If you do one room at a time, getting rid of anything you don't really need, and organizing what you do have, when the time comes you will be SO set.

Ditto to everything here.

When I moved from Indianapolis to Tulsa, I got most of my boxes from the liquor store and the auto parts store.

The first thing to do is clean your garage. I know, it's a pain in the ass. The stuff in the garage you don't want anymore, have a garage sale or donate. Make sure you have a sizable portion of the garage cleared to stack the boxes you've packed and sealed.

Then...I started with the rooms I didn't use most (in our case, the guest room, and then some things in the girlies room, then the formal dining room).

I packed at least one box a night and by the time crunch time came, it was down to throwing stuff out and cleaning up.

Also packing one to two boxes a night you can almost inventory and put a packing list on the outside so you know what's in the box when you're trying to do the "necessities" unpacking for your first couple nights in the new place.

I also suggest using paper plates/cups/plastic utensils about a week before you move. The kitchen is always the hardest to pack, and takes the longest.

Oh yeah...invest in one of those cling wrap rolls from the Uhaul store. The stretch wrap will keep the drawers to your dressers closed during the move and you don't have to unpack them.

Utilize towels, linens and not used very often clothes as packing material for your glassware Saves on bubblewrap and boxes just for linens. I also used to put small stuff into my bigger tupperware bowls before packing them.

I think I might have just found a new career.
