yes, this is the interesting part of the story. it's an intersection of class and privilege, with underclass and race. This could indeed play out in so many ways.

This is going to sound pompous and ignorant, but it is true on so many levels.
It's college. It has nothing to do with the school. All schools have this kind of crap happening. It's getting press because it's Duke and the kids are from wealthy families.
The press is making more of it than should be made of it, in my opinion, but then again, I am interested....
I love Duke and hate to see that school suffering through this kind of humiliation.
