and not in a good way
My car got broken into last night. I'm all shakey and feel weird knowing that someone else was in my car and going through my things.
As far as I can tell the only thing that was taken was loose change. They left my leather mittens and cds....

I'm so sorry... that happened to me once... it's almost spooky, like someone is watching you or hiding in the back seat.
Time for a new car, Bacon Bits

Was it unlocked, or did the perps break a window?
Sorry.

The leather mittens didn't fit and you and I don't have the same taste in music.
I had a Toyota years ago which was broken into and was trashed. The would-be car thief failed to hotwire it and destroyed the steering column, along with the stereo when he tried to rip it out.
It's not a good feeling. Sorry that happened.

I'm sorry it happened. It happened to a guest of mine at my house once. I felt horrible guilty.
(apparently our cars weren't worth breaking into. )

Was your car unlocked or did they break glass to get into your car?

That happened to me a few years ago, I had even left my cell phone in the car. They didn't take it, just the change. It is a sh!tty feeling for sure.

I once had the contents of my trunk stolen while in New York City and there were some very useful, meaningful and precious things in there, like my pearl necklace that had my grandmother's clasp on it, contact lenses, the baby's portable crib. At the time I had no renter's insurance so it was an expensive loss as well.
The next day, my family was at my house and my uncle asked me how I was doing. I said, "Well, the only way I can feel OK about it is to just assume that whoever stole my baby's crib must have needed it far worse than I."
He looked at me like I was completely nutters and said, "Uh, yeah, lose the hippie trip, Mary Sunshine. Mr. Cracky on Avenue B has your crib."

I didn't even think to check to see if they used anything to unlock it, i was too shakey and weirded out. But it being unlocked it completely possible.

One car break-in someone pried open the sunroof and dumped sticky gunk all over my seats. I have a good nose (it's big for a reason). I told hubby it smells like frozen yogurt. He looked at me puzzled because the stuff was granular.
But anyway, a few weeks later we are at the frozen yogurt place a few blocks away...as we open the door, hubby is sniffing and says "you're right". "right about what?" Pretty soon, my hubby is asking the cashier how they make their yogurt. The kid lets us into the back area and sure enough the yogurt starts as these containers of flavor granules.
my car smelled good for months
