Thanks soooo much everyone for all the congrats and well wishes!!! I still can't believe he's here. We just watched the video we took from the time we left the house for the hospital through the day we got home, it seems like ages ago already!!!

And of course it's hard right now to get time to write!!! But I wanted to at least check back in on everyone!!!

We went in Tuesday night as planned and they watched my blood pressure, it was good overnight and we had contractions on my own overnight, and I was pretty much going into labor on my own anyway. Wed. morning at 7 am we started pitocin to get the contractions going, then at 8 am my dr. broke my water. This all went well and I had visitors and phone calls through out. The contractions started picking up and eventually got to around 2 minutes apart. I was definitely feeling them, but able to breathe through them pretty well. By about 10:30 they were starting to get pretty intense and we decided to call for the epidural, I was about 4 cm by this point and got the epidural in time to really start having some pain. The contractions during the epidural were worse than getting the epidural itself, I did surprisingly well through it.

I felt a little sick from the epidural right away with the burst of medicine, but once it kicked in I started feeling great, what a way to go, no way I would've wanted to keep going without it. By noon I was 5cm and moving along nicely! The contractions were really kicking and every once and a while the baby's heart was dropping a bit, but he was handling it pretty well. The nurse came and checked me again at 2:15 pm and much to all our surprise I was fully dilated!!!!! So big progress and time to push! It all seemed like it happened so fast! We had to wait a while to push to get things ready and the dr. was dealing with 2 other deliveries at the same time. We finally really started pushing at 4 pm. He was still high at this point, and the pushing began. It was hard at first but I got the hang of it, well, it was hard the whole time really. After an hour not too much progress, but we hung in there and pushed another hour. After 2 hours he was really just not coming down and they figured out he was head down, but turned to the side a bit to where he was getting stuck. We tried some other pushing positions and after another hour, 3 hours total, he still was really high. Not even far enough down to help with the extraction with the vacum or anything, and it became c-section time. We knew before it was becoming an option, but at this point it was really necessary.

It was hard to take after all that work I'd just done, I really wanted to just do it on my own. But getting him here safe was all we really wanted to do, so we agreed to the c-section. My hubby and I had a bit of a cry, and moved on to get the job done. I was scared to death to be honest. But all the dr.s and nurses were great, and my hubby was great. We went in and before we knew it Hayden was here. The dr. said he was turned sideways and had his hand up by his face which was sticking him where he was. My hubby watched them pull him out and when I heard him cry it was the greatest thing ever. Just thinking about hearing it and seeing him makes me cry. My hubby got some great video right afterward which was good for me since I couldn't see much. That was the hardest thing for me I guess, not getting to have my moment of them putting him on my chest and holding him right away the moment he was born.

Anyway, this is getting too long but I wanted to fill everyone in. It's been an emotional few days and the only important thing is he's here and perfect. We've been getting lots of help from our families which has been great, my mom has been staying here and a lifesaver. Seeing my hubby take care of me and Hayden has been amazing, he's so great.

I will check in again just as soon as I can!!!! Got to go feed the little booger, time for the milk truck to arrive!!!! He's doing great with nursing, knows just what to do!!!!!
