Posted: 05/14/04 - 16:37 Post subject: I love my treadmill!!!
So, I got outside to run yesterday - first outdoor run (besides the 'jog' at Crazylegs) of the year! I've been stuck at about 8:20 miles on the mill - whether I do 3 miles or 6. Just not comfortable slower or faster.
Anyway, I got started and decided to do a 5K route around West Bend. All I wanted was about 8:30 pace and I'd be content. First mile comes up, and I hit the split - 7:37. Holy cow, I best slow down or I won't make 3 miles! Second mile - more hilly (the whole run is hilly, but mile two is more so) split - 16:00 (8:23). Okay, that's more like it. Mile 3, feeling pretty good and wanted to finish stronger. Split - 24:07 (8:07). Finished in 24:45! Best thing is, my 5K race pr since I started running again is 24:22, and that was pushing myself!
Hence, I love training on my treadmill. By the time I get outside, it makes me feel oh so good to see the drop in time!!!
(of course, it doesn't hurt that I've lost 21 lbs. since Ash Wednesday either)
Thanks for reading! I miss this place...

What is?, "Things never spoken by most runners." Alec
actually 21 pounds, awesome. sometimes it's good to lose things and not be able to find them. but it's nice to be outside again though.

Have you tried setting the treadmill to a 8:1939802374892734 per mile pace?
That might help.

Congrats!
It's amazing how free you feel when you get outside.
Great job and it's also great to hear about your weight loss.
