 Posted: 06/17/04 - 10:22 Post subject: I just got a call back from CHOP's Business Manager
of the Billing department regarding my letter that I sent last week.
We had a nice chat and she found several errors in CHOP's system. All of my problems have been corrected and rectified.
Also my letter prompted the CEO of CHOP to expedite the upgrade of new billing software because of similar problems with billing in general.
The billing lady said that she checked other families accounts who have numerous docs like us, and found similar problems with their accounts too.
I have the lady's private number now for all concerns in the future. I will not have to press through any voice mail numbers.

Glad you got some results. It sux to spend so much time on this kind of stuff but maybe now because you did someone else won't go through this either. Good job!

Good job !! I'm glad you found people who were able and willing to help. Nice touch on looking for other families in the same situation.
Just to satisfy my curiosity: is CHOP acting as an HMO in this instance or just the provider and are they just messing up the billing ??

CHOP is Childrens hosptial of Philadelphia. They are the provider, and screwing up the billing.
