You sound like an old boss I had - Atilla the Hen. When I got a job with her I found stuff that was so old, the regulation had not only been superseded but had been revoked over 10 years prior. Yet, she insisted on keeping it. I was worried I had entered the world of Kafkaesque bureaucracy: "Get rid of the old files, but make a copy first".
