Posted: 07/09/04 - 20:53 Post subject: I have to write an obituary/rememberance article. (Help!)
A personal friend & fellow lacrosse official passed away in late May due to cancer. He was a long-time official who helped develop officials here in Atlanta for 10+ years now.
I've been charged with the task of writing the obtituary article for Lacrosse Magazine, a national publication received by over 150K people. They are looking for ~ 2000 words.
Have any of you read any recent rememberance articles that you enjoyed? If so, can you provide links (or PM the info). I'm a decent writer when it comes to sentence structure, etc. But creativity is not my strong suit. I'm looking to plug in personal quotes and anecdotes, but I'd like to "borrow" someone else's writing style/article structure. Any other suggestions you might have? I keep looking at a blank Microsoft Word screen.
thanks in advance!

I saw a neat (new to me) way of commemorating the dates as Sunrise: (d/o/b) and Sunset (date he passed). I don't know why, but that really touched me.
I'm sorry you have to do this, but it sounds like he was special to you--and I'm glad you are doing this for him and his family and friends.
