And the worst part is that it's for a 9 year old boy. He died of leukemia last Sunday. Sad

He was one of the boys my son went to camp with over the last two years. He did real well until this spring, when he relapsed. He had a bone marrow transplant, and relapsed again very quickly.

He was a determined little boy. Never complained about feeling bad.

It's hard not to look at my son and ask "Is he next?" Thankfully, he's not old enough to ask the same question.

It's just a fight a kid shouldn't have to fight, that's all.

I'm sorry Gman. You're absoulutley correct, this isn't fair. Kids shouldn't have to have that fight, much less lose.

that's really tough, gman. but don't be so sure your kid isn't asking that question. kids are a lot more in tune than we think. I feel it here in this house right now.

Sorry G-man.

You're absolutely right that it's a fight a kid shouldn't have to fight, and someday they won't have to anymore. But I can bet he touched a lot of people with his courage and determination and I hope you can keep that part of him with you as a constant reminder that although his life was short, it was a blessing to those who knew him.

Its always sad when the littlest ones pass away. No kid should ever have to fight diseases.

Bless his family.

I am so sorry for you, Gman. It is really difficult for me to watch the innocent suffer. And suffer so cruelly.

I'm glad you are going, even though it will be really tough.
