Urg, I'm totally sad. Newegg is really on the ball and I got all my new puter parts yesterday. Good news, everything looks so cool! Bad news, the processor and motherboard don't fit together.  I guess the new processors (a P4) is a newer chipset than that on the motherboard, so pins don't line up or whatever. So I had to figure out what to reorder, and we went with the motherboard (I figure I'm damned either way, like i know WTF I'm doing here). It's practically identical to the newer one, and supposedly this will work. I should be on the new machine come Thursday at the latest.
Since I'm doing this overhaul I decided to get a battery backup, a better surge protector, oh, and a wireless keyboard. And calling it Christmas for Mom.  I'm saving for a good monitor now, the really thin one.
