I narrowly missed hitting a mini-van with two moms and a bunch of kids in it on my way home from work about 9 years ago. She pulled out onto the highway, apparently distracted by something, because she didn't look. I locked the brakes up and swerved and somehow missed them. The four tire skidmarks stayed for almost two weeks. Not sure how long her own skidmarks stayed.
