Ever since it crashed last fall I have a hard time getting any kind of software loaded on it. Mrs. Boiler got me the Kodak Easyshare camera for my birthday and I tried loading the software and it gave me some cryptic message. After following Kodak's instructions, nothing worked. I have sent them the log but I have a feeling I am f***ed. All because I lost my damn XP disk and I borrowed someone elses to rebuild my system.

Well I heard back from Kodak today. It sounds like my problem can be resolved!!!!!

Greetings,
We are sorry to hear of the trouble that you have had with installing
this software.
Please check our Kodak Web site at http://www.kodak.com/go/easysharesw
for a newer version of EASYSHARE Software, which can be installed on a
system that has Windows Installer 3.1. When you arrive at our Web site,
look for an indication that a new version was recently posted. If you do
not see a new version posting notice, bookmark the page and visit again
later. We will make this new version available as soon as possible.
Another option is to remove Windows Installer 3.1 from your system, to
enable your current version of EASYSHARE Software to install. After
installing EASYSHARE Software, you can then install Windows Installer
3.1 by accepting Microsoft updates that are offered to you or by
visiting the Windows Update Web site at:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
If you want to remove Windows Installer 3.1, please follow the steps
below.
IMPORTANT: If for any reason the removal of Windows Installer 3.1 does
not succeed, you will have to wait for the new version of the KODAK
EASYSHARE Software, or work with the Microsoft support team to enable
the removal of Windows Installer 3.1.
Select Start > Settings > Control Panel.
Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
If you have Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed, select the Show Updates
check box at the top of the window. (Otherwise, you will not be able to
see any of the installed Microsoft updates.)
Scroll down the alphabetical list and select Windows Installer 3.1
(KB893803).
Click Remove.
At the new window, click Next. The update will then uninstall.
If you have Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed, you may receive a
message stating that the service pack may not work correctly if you
remove this component. Click OK to continue with the uninstall. You
will be reinstalling the component later and this will not harm your
computer.
When prompted, restart your computer.
When Windows finishes loading, install the EASYSHARE Software.
IMPORTANT: Once the EASYSHARE Software is installed, please be sure to
download and reinstall the Windows Installer 3.1 update. You can accept
the update when it is offered to you again, if you have enabled the
automatic update feature of Windows, or you can visit the Windows Update
Web site at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com.
To learn more about Windows Installer 3.1, visit the Microsoft Web site
at:

I just need to set aside some quiet time to either download the newest version of the kodak software or I can try removing the one windows piece and then try it.

I actually moved to DVD about 2 years ago!
The thing I am dreading about changing ISP's is that I will need to save all my web sites, do some editing and republish them.
