Posted: 02/19/03 - 21:51 Post subject: I had to leave work early tonight.
Because Robin had a very bad migrane and needed to go to bed. I called someone from our church to wait until I got there. I go home and all h e double hockey sticks broke loose. Hannah was tired, JJ was hungry, Abby needed medicine and I had a few things to clean up. One good thing about police work is that it taught me to assess quickly and prioritize.
1. Hannah bottle, while she is quiet with that get pajamas for everyone
2. Change diaper and clothes in Hannah. Put to bed. Give JJ another piece of bolonga and string cheese while taking Hannah up to bed.
3. Give JJ more cheese, refill water, look over Abbys chart to see what meds she needs and how much she has had to drink. Give first round of meds to Abby.
4. Finish first round, take Abby into her room, administer Respiratory meds, after giving JJ more cheese (he loves cheese, this piece was American Cheese). JJ helps here in getting the meds set up and knows what pieces are needed to help Abby get these meds.
5. Change Abby, give her bottle, put to bed.
6. Make grilled cheese for my dinner at 2015 while JJ plays with bubbles, drinks Orange Juice.
7. Fill and run dishwasher, JJ puts soap in and presses start button.
8. Get JJ's pajamas on. Take up to bed. Read Puffer the steam engine twice, say prayers and go to sleep.
9. Greet nurse sign Abby off to her. Check a few things on computer and off to be.
We were below minimum staffing today so I had to have some one come in early with the condition I relieve hiim at the same time 12 hours later tomorrow. NO problem, my "opposite" on the other shift and I already worked out stuff like this and this is the arrangement we have so it works out well so I do not have to use any time off.

Cool! And you still had time to check in here!
I'm impressed--I'm lucky if my socks match in the mornings.
Take a bow superdad!

What airehead said!! I'm happy if I can get my lunch packed and remember to button all my buttons up before I walk out of the house!
I can multitask my face off at work, but come home and I turn into a helpless piece of mush.....
Hats off to ya, Dad!

Can't say it is natural. I have learned to multitask and prioritize quite well. Juggling numerous problems thrown at me happens all the time. Cant say it is all in stride sometimes but the job gets done.
Robin could barely get out of bed this morning and wanted me to go into work late today but I could not because I had to come in early for the guy who came in for me yesterday.
I talked with Abby's nurse before I left and she said she would help out Robin as much as possible. I think Robin will take off work today, take the kids to the baby sitter and go back to bed. Hopefully she can rest well and feel better until I get home.
I cant leave early today we are below minimum and so is the other oncoming shift, so I have no options.
