Posted: 07/18/05 - 08:12 Post subject: I had my first newborn nightmare of the year
Last night I had a dream that our baby was born happy and healthy. On our way home from the hospital we stopped to get groceries ('cause I'm sure that's just what my wife is gonna want to do ) and I was holding the baby. After a little while I realized that she wasn't in my arms any more and that I had 'misplaced' her. I woke up in the middle of my wife and I frantically searching for her....
I had another dream earlier in the year that my wife gave birth at the grocery store - what is this strange connection I have between fresh produce and our unborn child?

I want to know how you people remember your dreams. I rarely remember mine.

Sounds like your adapting pretty well, I'd say.
When are you guys due?
Y'know, years after being out of school I still had the dream where I'd forgotten to go to a class all semester and then had to take the final or I'd fail out.

Wait. Just wait.
Wait til you have the dream that your kid is dead.
THAT. SUCKS.

Or you lose them in the department store because they were holding your hand one second and they suddenly stopped and disappeared all at once. It'll be ok, they'll just be in the middle of the clothes rack hiding from you because it was fun.

Hey, I did that as a kid!!! But what else is a boy supposed to do for fun when shopping for clothes with his grandmother?
It was like another world inside those racks, albeit one made up of pastel polyester pantsuits!!!!!

'cause at some point when you are at the store you will look to where you think you kid is, and he/she won't be there and for a horrible few seconds you will think you really have somehow misplaced them. It happens to the best of us.

Maybe your picking up on the fact that when you try to squeeze something the size of a watermelon out of something the size of an orange it could be a nightmare. I'm just sayin.
Seroiusly that's too funny.

You should consider a new career in dream analysis.

Steve, you are very normal. You won't be sleeping long enough to dream in a few weeks so it shouldn't recur too many more times.

and the first night your baby does sleep through the night you'll still be waking up and checking on her every hour just to make sure she is ok...

The dreams will happen sporadically throughout your child's life. They don't get easier.
I dreamed my son drowned. I woke up bawling.
