Posted: 04/12/06 - 11:30 Post subject: I had a visit to the lawyer yesterday
I rarely talk about my personal life on here, so here goes.
I am in the final stages of my divorce from Dave. Many of you know him.
Well, I had to go through the seperation agreement and OK it and give her any suggestions of changes that I had. Pretty simple stuff.
Earlier in this process (September or October) I had found out that Dave had opened an account with a jewelry store, and I assumed that he got engaged.
We had some "work" done and got the balance and opening date and stuff and drew some conclusions and figured he was engaged. In August. (HE moved out from me in April. That is sort of fast, but whatever. (Draw your own conclusions about that.)
Well, over the course of the last year, I've asked him countless times if he's engaged and he's always said no. Or just not answered the question. He normally doesn't say no, but says something like, I can't afford to get married, or some other form of no without saying no.
Well, in the seperation agreement, this account was referenced referring to it as "Whitehall/GEMB in conenction with a diamond ring."
So, now I know.
I knew all along, and I was right. No matter how many times he lies to me, or has his mom lie to me, or his friends lie to me.... his lawyer won't lie to me. So, finally, I know the truth. And I feel better.
Thanks for listening.
Jen

I'm sure that is not easy on you Jen, knowing he's already in line to get married again.

It's been a real life episode of the Jerry Springer show, it really has.

I'm sorry to hear all that, Jen. I don't understand the value of lying. I especially don't understand it when it's between two people who have children together and thus will always be connected.

You should talk to my ex to get some insight. She's made a career out of lying to me, the boys, her own parents and siblings. She lies about stupid stuff - the kind of crap that it doesn't make a bit of difference whether or not she tells the truth.

I am always amazed at how easily some people lie. How they can look you in the eye and lie to you.
That is the quickest way to lose respect in my book.
Sorry J.
