Fox Sports is picking up the preseason game of the Bucks vs Cavs tonight...
Any thoughts on Lebron? Next Jordan? I think not...Next T-mac? possibly...

he who is most hyped, hath so much further to fall.
being a hockey fan, every year there's a "next wayne gretzky", well shoot it never happens, and to put that much pressure on someone isn't right. it takes a few years before someone lights it up as much as they were hyped to be.
the players that light it up the first few years usually weren't expected too. but the truly great players always need a little bit of work at first. the brilliance is there, but you gotta have patience.
as for Lebron? i hope the kid pans out alright. there can't be another jordan, lets just hope that lebron can do his own thing.

The rookie years of Kobe, T-Mac and Garnett weren't bad...but they certainly weren't stellar...Lebron is coming into the league possesing two things these three DIDN'T have...full court awareness and an NBA body...this will help him have a pretty good rookie season...Plus he has Ricky Davis and some other scorers on the team to take the pressure off of him when needed...

i've been hearing that. awareness and hands, the two things that can't be learnt.
they'll say that about hockey players, they might not be big enough, or experienced enough just yet, but you can see the awareness shine through.
and yeah that boy definately has some muscles. hard to think i'm 2 years older then him

He played h.s. ball at St Vincent St Mary, about 12 miles from where I'm sitting. Tons of hype around here about him - he's earned it. Unbelievably dominating at the h.s. level - his turn in the pros will be a year or two away. Shelfies right, he's got an NBA body already and so far a good head on his shoulders. He even has a sense of humor.

Ohh, Lebron.. here I read it too quick and was thinking Lebaron
..definitely loss of cool points for driving a Lebaron.. unless of course, it was John Voight's old car.

I hope the kid does well. Operative word...kid.
What I still don't get (and this a different thread, and perhaps someone can explain this; I've tried to get the reasoning from other sports fans and have not gotten far) is WHY there are different rules applied to prospective college NBA candidates as opposed to college NFL candidates. Or maybe I am missing one important point. I am not a big college sports follower period, but it seems to me that if you can pretty much break rules in one sport without being penalized that you should be able to break them in another (and here I am referring to Maurice Clarette and that mess vs. the Lebron James now past issue). I am most likely misinformed as to one major difference, but I'd like to know what.
Signed,
Curious, overtired

How will LeBron do?
He is built well, but more importantly, he is a great passer, something that most stars don't know how to do until the NBA.
