What are you cooking tonight?
Tonight the kids and I will be feasting on a grilled chicken. I am using the "Beer Can" method.
I've done this before, and It always turns out awesome!

Beer-can chicken is sooo good!
I've probably have a chicken breast w/ mixed veggies and maybe that last red potato I have.

no, no, no, it's really good and easy...
You empty about 1/3 of the beer...put a couple of holes in the top using a can opener....Take all the fat and trimmings and crap out of the chicken.
Then you put on your seasonings....set the bird upright on the can and put it on the grill.
You use indirect heat...meaning you put the bird over the side of the grill where there is no heat...and turn the other side on high. This keeps the outside of it from burning and getting dried out...plus the fluid in the can boils up into the bird, and keeps the whole thing really moist.
You can look it up on the internet. It's really good. Honest.

Heard it's huge in Canada. As someone pointed out on the CBC, the two nice things are: 1) the chicken comes out unbelievably moist and tender, and 2) you still have the other five cans of beer.

Ohhhh.....I see.
I used to know a guy who would grill his steak long enough to get through one beer.

That's a good idea! Beer can chicken is awesome.
I think we're eating leftovers. Chicken wings, a turkey club, some steak and asparagus. A real mishmash!

Just found out my sister and her daughter are coming in to have their big emotional goodbye with my dad tonight. Which, if I play my cards right could mean a good mom-cooked or sister-cooked meal tonight and the next couple nights....

Oh my gosh! Thanks for posting this. I just realized that I was supposed to put dinner in the oven hours ago in order to be ready on time. I think I'm just under the wire. By the way - it's Steak and Guinness pie.

Can I get a clarification (and/or recipe)? Steak-and-Guinness Pie? or Steak, and for dessert, Guinness Pie? And either way, recipes if you don't mind?
