Yeah, I was watching some of the footage in Kansas City (I immediately thought it was the doings of some crazy White Sox Fan!!! witness?)

I lived in KS for 17.5 years and never saw a tornado. I've come lots closer to getting sucked up by one since I've lived in GA.

There are several roads closed due to flooding. Trees are down all over
the place. It was a mess driving into work today. Most of the traffic
lights were not working. I think we are still under a flash flood warning, and a couple of counties not far from us are under a tornado warning.
We forgot to put the umbrella down on our patio table and the whole
thing blew into the pool. Thank goodness the glass didn't break.
So far we are a lot luckier than some other places.

Really? My friend from Kansas makes it sound like its a spectator sport there. I do know that I saw almost as many as she did when I was in Kentucky though. Its not limited to Kansas.....
Glad to hear you're okay, Poky. I remember the one that tore through downtown Nashville like 5 years ago....

and my new found phobia living on the gulf coast, Hurricane season :smilie with the willies: Which, if you're keeping track, started early this year with a storm in April. This is also a La Nina year, which is what its been all the times houston/galveston has been hit in the past. Fan-friggin-tastic. I'm moving inland, or to....well, somewhere with no tornadoes or hurricanes!!!

Was just telling my wife out of all the natural disasters in this country (tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, mudslides, wildfires, drought, earthquakes) I'll live with the only one we get...blizzards, at least the snow melts and little is wrecked.

Watched the news anxiously (sp?) until about 11 PM. The storms were headed straight for us according to the news but we hardly got anything.
