Got the standard rejection letter today.
Dear applicant,?
I have to say I was quite surprised. The interview went great and the principal seemed to act as if it was just a matter of going through the motions and the job was mine.
Both the principal and the sup made me feel like I had the job.
Oh well, there are worst things in life. I still have my job, although it'll be all PE all the time. Good things about staying:
1. I can wear sweats everyday to work.
2. I get to teach two of my own kids.
3. I teach in the town I live in. (3 blocks from home)
4. I get to coach an amazing girls bb team.
Thanks to everyone for their kind thoughts. I guess it wasn't meant to be.

I was sure hoping for something new for you, too. But, that's a good attitude--what's meant to be will be.
You still rock in my book, though!

But after reading your list of good things, I'd like to offer to switch jobs with you.

sorry to hear that coach. knowing how school districts work around here, it's very possible some board member has a relative graduating from college with a degree in Social Studies......all the interviews were done to cover their A$$es.
on the other hand, I'm a true believer in what is meant to be will actually happen, so this just wasn't your time, and something great is in store for you still.

Sorry Coach! Sounds like you have things at least tolerable where you are. I don't know about the wearing sweats every day. Wouldn't you rather be in a suit and tie?

I'd compromise and wear sweat pants and a velvet 'smoking' jacket...
Hey Coach, sorry to hear the news. I guess it was meant to be and at least you know where you're at for the time being. The best you can do is keep your eyes open for another position and dive in like did before.

Thanks Everyone!
You guys rock big time.
buttslaps to all the Riff-Raff Family!
Although next school year you are gonna have to survive with many less posts from the coach, since I'll be in the gym 6 hours a day!
