Good job aire! You got those stale checks taken care of, eh?
Well, if someone's going to try to cash a ten year old check, they may be disappointed.

Legally, checks are only good for 90 days, I think..... or is it a year?

Guess I need to look that one up.

It will vary, actually.

It depends on how your state Uniform Commercial Code (or the equivalent) addresses the issue of paying stale dated checks. Most allow banks to honor them as long as they do so in "good faith".

I think it's 6 months where I live.

Commercial checks will often have a "good until" date that can shorten the time.

My primary bank is Wachovia, have been with them since December '02. Also have a Old National account here in town. I'm starting to do more and more of my online banking with ON since I really don't like the new online banking features Wachovia has recently adopted. But this is the account Kramer pays support through, so I'll keep it until his banking situation changes.

Who doesn't cash their checks? That's just crazy!
