I got the phone call on the way up to Maine on Friday afternoon. I had the winning bid on a very small phone company.
Details:
Number of Phones - 5 (with more to come in time)
Type - Party Line
Equipment - Battery and Hand Crank
Line - 1/2 - 1 mile of wire - No poles yet
Switchboard - 1
Mfgr - Stromberg Carlson, around 1944 - 45
Staff - Me
In Service Dates - June 3, 4, 5, and 6 2004
Hey, even AT&T started somewhere! Watch out Shelfie....I'm movin in an taken over!
Next step, fiber optics, DSL, and cell service

I can just see the $1.50 per month I'm gona be getting from my subjects....I mean customers...
They can pay in cash or D-Cells.....the switchboard takes 8 freaking D-cells....and weighs 60 lbs.
It's shipping from Canada late this week. I gota send an International Postal Money Order....sheesh.. Like my word ain't good enough..  What's worse is that I had to buy it from Canadians.....oh the shame! 
PH....I'm not kidding...I really did buy a tiny phone company! Scouts Honor!
