...of trying to find a good, inexpensive maternity bathing suit! I refuse to spend more than $40 for something I'm only going to wear for about 2 months.
What's up with these suits? They have no...um...support! Am I the only pregnant woman in the world that needs the support? The ones that do have support seem to be of the "mu mu" stlye and I refuse to wear one of those! Do they think pregnant women have no style? And, what is up with these maternity tankinis? I don't want my big belly hanging out from under the top in another month!
I spent four hours shopping for one today and came home empty handed.

I never owned a bathing suit pregnant either. I just wouldn't do it.
I was due 10 years ago this week (actually overdue)...and was too uncomfortable to even consider swimming.

Maybe non-maternity suits in different sizes will work better for you? My niece was born in September, and my sister swam all summer (it was Texas, she might have died otherwise) She got a normal tankini from Old Navy or somewhere and wore it on top and stretched it to its capacity around her middle. Actually, she might have worn the bottoms too, but in front of people she had little shorts on that went up to and around her belly where the tankini met. She looked adorable, no excessive skin was shown and she didn't spend much on it.

You might also want to look into a plus size woman's bathing suit. Just a thought, not a comment on your looks.

Yeah, I've already done this. There are two problems. 1) It might fit around the tummy but the top part hangs off of me (which was a BIG shocker for me!) and 2) mu mu!
...not to mention the fact that the cost goes up exponentially with the amount of material used to make the suit.

I also keep thinking of the Cross Canadian Ragweed song, "I'm sick and tired (of being sick and tired).
ROCKS!
